“Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” – Warren Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.
In celebration of Earth Day, Ithaca Wealth Management has launched the Evergreen Tree-Planting Initiative and reiterated its commitment to sustainable investing.
Working with the Arbor Day Foundation, Ithaca Wealth will plant five trees for every investment management account opened on its platform, both retroactively and going forward.
The trees will be planted in our nation’s forests that are most in need of reforestation efforts following the devastating effects of wildfires, including in Oregon’s Wallowa-Whitman and Umpqua National Forests.
It's important to never underestimate the mind-boggling power of compound interest, in both investing and in life. While this may seem like a small act on the surface, over time it can grow into something much bigger than all of us.
Additionally, we are reiterating our commitment to sustainable investing, which enables your values to be fully aligned with your investments.
In terms of sustainable investing, our model portfolios utilize individual stocks, giving us extreme flexibility in excluding carbon-heavy polluters found in the energy, mining, and chemical sectors that often leak into passive index ETFs and mutual funds.
